Skiing with a fjord view
The fjords and mountains of Fjord Norway are the perfect backdrop to unique and family-friendly winter adventures. The region offers quality skiing – all year round!

The skiing terrain in Fjord Norway is world class, and many of the resorts are very impressive in terms of stable snow conditions. With its two word-class summer ski resorts, the region can almost offer skiing every month of the year! In most of the resorts, you will find family-friendly, well-groomed slopes as well as challenging freeskiing terrain. Some of the resorts also have terrain parks.

Compared with the big resorts in the Alps, the ski lift systems are small-scale. Sometimes, you can almost have the slopes to yourself – especially in midweek. If you prefer cross-country skiing, there are many great tracks to choose from. If you bring (or rent) ski touring equipment, there are completely untouched mountains where you can sometimes ski all the way from mountain summits down to the fjord.

A winter adventure in Fjord Norway should also include a visit to one of the towns in the region, or you can join a round trip to see the fjords and steep mountains covered in ice and snow.

The Fjord Norway region is the western part of southern Norway, known for its fjords, mountains and glaciers.

The mountains of Fjord Norway range from gentle mountain plateaus to jagged Alpine peaks. All the major glaciers on southern Norway are in Fjord Norway.

The coastal climate means regular, large snowfalls during winter. The high altitude reosrts can experience an average of up to 11 metes during winter.
